Mac Dairmid Young Scientist of the Year Award Posters available for display.

Every year The Foundation for Research, Science and Technology hosts the MacDiarmid Young Scientist of the Year Awards, showcasing New Zealand top young scientists. To enter each scientist is requested to submit a poster which outlines their cutting edge research.  The posters are colourful and varied, and in the words of the young scientists, tell the often inspirational story of their ground-breaking research. Murder In Menagerie Park

Interactive Forensic Science Exhibition from SciTech Discovery Centre in Perth. This has just opened at Te Manawa, Palmerston North, then is moving to Hamilton.  The exhibition has 20+ Interactive, covers 500+ sq metres and visitors solve a crime by working through clues, each involving different aspects of Forensic science.

TOYS

Science at Play produced jointly by Scitech Discovery Centre Perth and Scienceworks, Museum of Victoria. Due to arrive in NZ in October 2006, and currently will be exhibited in Auckland and Palmerston North with other venues possible. This exhibition demonstrates basic physics concepts through toys, with interactive exhibits and open ended experiential activities.

Unseen Worlds: New Dimensions

(In partnership with Benson and Associates) The large scale images showcased in the exhibition reveal unseen worlds captured with special technologies, and drawn from the everyday research work of NZ science organisations: NIWA, GNS Science and the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research. Many were taken in difficult conditions or challenging environments including deep ocean, extreme geothermal conditions and inside human cells.

Sleeping giants – DVD

In March 2006 Victoria University hosted a conference “Climate Change and Governance”. Through a series of interviews, Sleeping giants records some of the key messages that were discussed. The DVD has been put together by “Elastic-Thinking” a communications project run by Airplane studios and is free to organisations, groups and individuals.
