For the purposes of this Privacy and Confidentiality Statement, “Joule” means the organisation which owns and administers this Website, including the trustees of the National Science-Technology Roadshow Trust (the Trust); the Crown and the Ministry of Research, Science and Technology (the Ministry); and all individuals including employees and sub-contractors of the Ministry and the Trust involved in creating, managing and providing advice through, this Website.
Joule is committed to respecting and maintaining your privacy. Any personal information you supply will be kept secure and used only for the purpose for which is was supplied.
If when registering you notified us that you would like to receive newsletters or would like your contact details made available to other users of this site, we will act accordingly. If you would like to be deleted from our newsletter database or would no longer like your contact details made available to other users, you should let us know by emailing info@joule.org.nz
Under the Privacy Act 1993 individuals are entitled to have access to the personal information we hold on them and to request correction of it in the event they believe any information is incorrect. If in the course of seeking our advice you provide us with information which is of an obviously confidential nature, or information which is not in the public domain and which you tell us is to be treated confidentially, we will not disclose that information to any third party without your consent, unless we are required by law to disclose it.
The Internet is not a secure environment and Joule is not liable in the event any information is lost or disclosed through hacking by third parties or other matters beyond our control.
